About Corey Oiler

Corey Oiler is a rising freelance cellist and private instructor residing in Sacramento, CA.

He plays in the cello section of both North State Symphony and Folsom Lake Symphony, and played principal in the Sacramento State Symphony Orchestra. He performs regularly with Opera Modesto, presenting great works such as: Tosca, Marriage of Figaro, Rigoletto, La bohéme, and others.

Corey studied with great cellists such as Andy Luchansky, Thalia Moore, and Dana Hughlett, and has performed in master classes with some of the top names in Cello pedagogy including Rhonda Rider, Eliot Bailen and Jeffrey Zeigler.

Corey loves playing chamber music, and is a founding member of Romanza String Quartet. He currently holds a Performer’s Certificate and Master’s in Cello Performance from Sacramento State University, and earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Music performance and Publication Writing and Design from Graceland University.
